The Clerk-Treasurer of the Town of Avon serves as the fiscal officer of the town and carries out various other responsibilities including:
- receive and disburse monies on the order of the town council;
- keep financial accounts and provide financial statements to the town council;
- maintain custody of the records, books and papers of the town council; and

issue licenses.
Sharon Howell is the current Clerk-Treasurer for the Town of Avon. Mrs. Howell is a recipient of the Outstanding Clerk Treasurer Award from the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns. Mrs. Howell is married with three children and one grand child. She is a Board member of the Avon Community Heritage Festival and the Avon Parks Foundation. She is a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church.
