Must have 4 years minimum on a full-time career fire department
Must complete a Washington Township/Avon Fire Department Employment Application
Must have a valid State of Indiana Driver's License
Must be a State of Indiana EMT-B or EMT-P certification, EMT-P preferred
Must be a State of Indiana Firefighter I & II
Must provide a valid Candidate Physical Agility Testing (CPAT) by close of business on November 18, 2019. (1630 hours)
Must pass an Oral Interview
Must have a Pass-Pass with no restriction on their 77 Fund Psychological Test, or be able to Pass a 77 Psychological Test
Must have completed an approved fire department physical within the last year, or pass a Public Employee Retirement Fund (PERF) Physical
Must pass pre-determined academy requirements during the orientation phase
Must pass pre and post-offer background checks and voice stress test
Will come into the department at the 2nd year FF salary
Will be on probation for their first year

The purpose of this position is to have available personnel specifically trained to respond to emergency situations involving fire, medical emergencies, hazardous materials or special rescues, and to provide support to fire prevention and public education efforts.
To assist in maintenance of all apparatus, equipment, buildings and grounds in a condition that facilitates the provision of optimum emergency services to Washington Township Avon Fire Department.
The Support Service Mechanic (SS Mechanic) will assist in maintaining the preventive maintenance schedule for all department apparatus and engine-driven equipment, provide emergency apparatus and equipment repair as required, provide station maintenance as directed, assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment and perform other related tasks as directed by the Director of Support Services
This standard sets forth the qualifications, requirements for appointment and general employment requirements for the position of Support Services Assistant as approved by the Fire Chief.
Individuals assigned to this position will perform a variety of technical work in communicating, organizing, directing, equipment maintenance, apparatus and fleet service, quartermaster, distribution of fire and EMS Supplies, fire and EMS gear maintenance, building maintenance and repairs, documentation and record keeping of PPE inspections and maintenance, repairs to plumbing, electrical, window, doors, roofs and other items as assigned.
