The Operations Division is the largest of four divisions within the Washington Township Avon Fire Department and is responsible for providing direct services to the citizens of Washington Township/Avon 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The primary responsibilities of its personnel include
life safety, incident stabilization, and the preservation of property and the environment.
The WTAFD prides itself on operating as an "all hazards" emergency organization.
The Operations Division is comprised of 72 personnel assigned to three 24-hour shifts and includes three fire stations and eight pieces of front-line apparatus including
3 Engines -- 4 Ambulances -- 1 Ladder Truck -- 1 Command Vehicle
Each of the three shifts are led by a Battalion Chief.
